I think it'd be cool to be a pilot, especially a transport pilot like the vultures in DOD. It just seems like it'd be exciting to fly into a place with explosions all around, and land a ship in the middle of a battle, and watch all your troops come pouring out.

Of course, I'd want the transport to have a lot of armor. :) Actually that might not be fun at all.

But it's better than being one of the guys on the ground!

Hmmm...then again, I bet it'd be fun to be a demolitionist. I want a grenade launcher!

I can foot it, I get into a fight like a madman, and I have a whole hell of a lot of Paint-ball and air-soft practice to know how to shoot.

I also have a good deal of practice hunting dear, and firing real firearms, both for civil and home protection. Also I have always known that if my country, or planet, needed me I would be right there ready to hoof it.

I'd either be a smuggker ala Han Solo and be some sort of unofficial thorn in the invader's side :-p or I would be on the war council, as I am an idea guy moreso than a soldier. I would love to come up with ways of infiltrating the enemy and destroying them from within as opposed to a faceoff.

Before I give my answer I'd like to say ello and that I haven't actually read the book yet. I've ordered the sucker and am awaiting its delivery so nobody ruin it for me (now that I said that I expect at least three people to try to do so and if they don't I'd be insulted). Anyway I'd be a Squad leader on the ground, I love being in the thick of everything and nothing would be cooler than yelling over a radio for an artillery strike on my position. :D maybe not...

In the beginning, everything is as it should be: aliens and humans and a war and whatnot. But then the Fraggles get involved, and the entire book turns into a musical. Mid-way through you're wondering why the main characters are shoveling popsicles in Wonderland to make candybags to ward off the Syrup Tsunami, and it all becomes clear when Alf makes his comeback. Every cat worldwide is scared.

There you go. You know the plot and the main villain (Alf, if it wasn't clear). And if you don't know who Alf is, shame, shame, shame.

I refused to read past the second sentence. Anyway, I've read a third of the way into part two since I got it yesterday. I would have finished it today but I had some very important research to take care of first. I just want to state that the conversation between Scott and Nicole is absolutely hilarious. It has been one of my favorite parts of the book so far. Becan is emerging as my favorite character with Scott close second and Jayden third. Awesome book, I wish i could be reading it now but after this post its back to work.

As I have not read the book yet(waiting for it patiently) I'd probably have to choose either Sniper or a regular Grunt. I'd prefer to do the sniper role as it is a bit more personal when you manage to take out a target and well...to me Aliens invading Earth would be deserving of a very personal assassin after all.:D
