Not sure if this belongs in the spoiler board or not. Does anyone else here think Becan is the best character in the book? His accent is just great.
"I am in me wick." I'm not sure what that means, but I'm going to be saying it for a very long time. :)

I agree about Becan. I like Jayden a lot and I think he'll develop into a good character. Becan is fun though, and I'm looking forward to seeing him beat up people with his crazy scrapping ability.
I also really like Will Harbinger, even though he's not a main character. I hope he gets some more air-time later on, because he's just got a great energy to him. "BATTERING RAM!!!"
That's one of the best quotes with a myriad of applications.

I LOVE Becan. While reading the book I sent a message to Lee and told him if he ever kills Becan off I'm gonna be mad!

Hehe, we should try to collect all of Becan's weird sayings.

I thought Lee did a good job with Jayden's character, too.

I was more partial to David. Becan was funny and kewl, and I did like Jayden but to me David was the best character.

I love that Becan and Jayden were roommates.

They are all great caracters in their own way but Beacan was my favorite as well. Obviously the accent is great and he is involved in a lot of funny dialogues. But he is not just "the funny guy". He showed several times that he is a great soldier and there is some mystique around him. Like, where the heck did he learn to fight like he did at the gym, knocking out three other guys.

I like becan, 'cause ...well How could one Not like him?
but my favorite is and remain Jayden, and i also think he's the one with the better developing potential... since he's not yet so strictly identifyied apart for the fact that he's so timid and keep by himself.. or better, Just because
he's so timid we don't really know hes real character and feelings.

Haven't been to the board in quite some time, but when I stopped by tonight and saw this thread, I just had to jump in. Although I really love all the characters so far, I really, really like Becan. I picture him in my head as a cross between Gimli from LOTR and Hamish (Mel Gibson's buddy) or maybe a younger Uncle Argyle from Braveheart. I can hear the thick accent and have a vivid image of a stout, tough as a railroad spike, grizzled warrior.

I like Jayden and Remmy but Becan is the man. I hope he gets to beat down some more Nightmen. The avatar of him isn't how I pictured him.

I agree about the Becan avatar. Just not how I pictured him at all, but ya gotta remember, he really looks the way our own mind's eyes see him. I do like the avi of Lelan.

I know this thread isn't a "Who's your favorite character", but I'd have to agree with Colonel Young. David is, by far, my favorite characters - he's not overly 'used' in the book, but he's always there. He brings a sense of wisdom and safety to me. He's got a sense of humor, but knows when to be serious. He's got flaws and probably some skeletons in the closet (I guess refering to the commet made about his 'mediocre' run in the NYPD), but he's reliable and, while older than most of those around him, isn't really a father figure as he is a friend figure. I feel he brings a realistic, down to Earth tone throughtout the book. Everywhere there is trouble, chaos, or turmoil, his character is the balance to that, but not in an overpowering way. He brings normalcy to the abnormal. If that all makes sense.
On that note, I love Becan. That guy is a cornerstone character. While he doesn't appear everywhere, I always look for him - a witty comment or some sort of comic relief. But most of all, he makes me feel good inside when he's involved. When they went on the bug-hunt, you know his character has a sense of honesty mixed with humor - he got scared, but still made you laugh. I was a little nervous that something was going to happen to him when he was lifted into the ceiling. I thought to myself, he seems like a character that isn't supposed to die right away - he needs to be here throught the book. Thank goodness he was.

That's what I said... Kinda obvious from my SN.. LOL
I also told him I'd love to see Sveta brought back!

I still don't think that avi resembles what I imagined Becan to look like. Someone described him as 'the crazy guy from Braveheart' and that's about where I put him, except a tad bit more modern (ya know, minus the kilt and painted face).

I thought Becan should paint his face differently every day. And not just war-paint. Things like butterflies and unicorns. That way, when the enemy gets whupped by him, its even more embarassing.
A friend of mine plays tactical shooters with me online and he's always wearing a baseball cap. I asked him one day why he doesn't wear a tactical helmet or something cool? His answer was: "Yeah, I'd be scared of a guy in full gear, but when I see someone else shooting bad guys and just running around in a baseball cap, that's the guy I don't want to mess with."
In conclusion: Becan is the man.
