Just read Outlaw Trigger *Spoilers Inside *

I have been meaning to read these books for awhile, I was made aware of Stephen's books from another forum. When my secret Santa needed a gift idea I jumped at the chance to receive Dawn of Destiny. I read the book in 3 or so days I enjoyed it enough to order both Trigger and Hero. I received both today, and have already completed Outlaw Trigger, here are my thoughts.

When I read the first chapter I realized quickly who was going to be murdered, I even thought to myself at the time this is a setup to make Scott one of them.

But that thought quickly disappeared as Stephen took us back and fourth between the Judge and the Operatives. When Thoor made the comment that it had been set in motion, I completly changed my opinion of the direction of the book. I thought he was talking about the takeover of the base. I thought they were going to use Scott's meltdown and attacks as reasoning for the need of Marshall Law by the Nightmen.

As I read each page I grew more and more anxious, as the time drew near for the murder, my heart pounded, and when Scott found Nicki's lifeless body I felt myself welling up, it made me thankful for my wife and daughter, and their lives.

When I finished the first book, I was looking for answers about the aliens, I was hoping for more information that the first book did not provide. While I still would like to know more, it took a back seat to the personal struggle and the fall of the Golden Lion.

The first book showed some of the best of man, led by god. The second showed the worst of man, led by revenge. I can't wait to see where the third book takes us.
