I read the majority of the 5000 Year Leap before it got taken by a relative. Very good stuff. I enjoyed it.

I borrowed it from a friend and now he wants me to give it to his dad to read now that I'm done. He's in Houston... me and his dad are just north of Austin so it's easier for me to give it to his dad because I see his dad more often than he does.
Really enjoyed 5000 Year Leap -- it was very inspiring.

I am currently reading The Complete Roman Army by Adrian Goldsworthy and Tom Clancy's: Splinter Cell - Conviction by David Michaels. Should be finished by the time the Epic series books that I ordered come in so I'll be able to start on those.

I read the Dexter series by Jeff Lindsay. Dark and morbid but pretty darn funny. They guy is emotionless and is attempting to 'act' human, and his insights into the world of us regular mortals is entertaining.
Read A Fire Upon The Deep by Vernor Vinge. Interesting concepts of the galaxy, breaking it into 'zones of thought' and a lot about group minds and the way sounds interact with the brain. A decent read, but I'm not clamoring for more Vinge right now.

In case you didn't know Dexter has been made into a tv series on Showtime. It's had it's ups and downs along the way, but this last season especially was absolutely brilliant.

Yeah, several people I know watch it. I don't have Showtime, but I need to get Netflix or get the DVDs, because they all say its a great show.
I recommend the books though. There are four of them (the fifth is either out or coming out soon). Pretty entertaining reads.
